Susan A. Gold, co-founder and director
Susan Gold is an experienced educator formerly with the Montgomery County Public Schools. While with the district, she provided curriculum orientation and training for incoming teachers. At the same time, she led her school’s team for the MARJiS/Japan Elementary School Educational Exchange Network, a three-year cultural and educational exchange program developed by the Universities of Maryland and Tokyo. Later, as a member of the Character Counts Steering Committee in the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Gold managed the character education program at her school. In conjunction with the American Psychological Association, she field-tested the 3 Rs Program in problem-solving.
Gold is a member of the National Association for Gifted Children. She holds a B.A. in sociology from McGill University and an M.S. in child development and early childhood education from Wheelock College.
Robert M. Gold, co-founder, president, treasurer and executive director
Robert Gold comes to gifted education from the student side. Identified by the Baltimore County (Maryland) Public Schools as a gifted and talented student, he participated in the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. An expert in school admissions testing, he trained prospective SAT- and LSAT-takers for Kaplan Inc. between 1996 and 2003. Today, he is a licensed Maryland attorney specializing in federal and state corporate taxation. He has worked in the tax consulting departments of Ernst & Young LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Before launching his legal career, Gold developed marketing plans for small- to mid-sized for-profit and nonprofit organizations with Bell Atlantic.
Gold received a B.A. in English from Cornell University and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law-Newark. He is a member of the National Association for Gifted Children.
Ursula A. Golladay, secretary and director
Ursula Golladay has 10 years’ experience teaching in the Montgomery County, Maryland, schools, most recently as music teacher and choral director at Oakland Terrace Elementary School. Recipient of three Washington Post Grants for the Arts, Golladay also developed studies in Japanese art, African-American history, integrated arts and the Music! Words! Opera! Program under a grant from the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Golladay has served on board of the Maryland General Music Teachers Association. She graduated from the choral-vocal music program at the University of Maryland-College Park and went on to earn a master’s degree in educational leadership from Hood College.
Bruce A. Stadd, director
Bruce Stadd has twice received the President’s Leadership Award for his work as a Fellow Software Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation in Elkridge, Maryland. He is an expert in Object Oriented design, XML, large-system integration and use-case analysis.
Stadd received a B.S. in computer science with a minor in business administration from the University of Delaware and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh.
